Hey, guys! Not a recent fan of Marc, but a recent member of this community. I hope icons aren't an inappropriate thing to post -- let me know if they are.

That said, 20 Marc Broussard icons.

( I wish you heartache that leaves you more of a man. )

Marc to release new soul album June 26th! [02 Apr 2007|05:09pm]

You’ve waited patiently and your waiting has paid off! On June 26th, Marc Broussard will be releasing S.O.S.: Save Our Soul, an 11-song tribute to the soul music he was brought up on – the 11th song is a Marc original! “I want to take what was beautiful and right about old-school soul and make it alive again,” Marc said about the album.

Starting today, you will be able to stream “You Met Your Match”, a Stevie Wonder cover, on Marc’s MySpace page (www.myspace.com/marcbroussard) and we will be adding new tracks every so often until the release, so keep an eye out!

Very soon the album will go on presale through Marc’s online store, so look for an e-mail in the next few weeks with further details. Marc will tour this summer in support of this new release and we will send all the details once we have them. The full track listing for the new CD is as follows:

1) You Met Your Match - Stevie Wonder
2) If I Could Build My Whole World Around You (with Toby Lightman) - Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell
3) Harry Hippie - Bobby Womack
4) Let the Music Get Down In Your Soul - Rance Allen
5) I Love You More Than You’ll Ever Know - Al Kooper/Blood Sweat & Tears
6) Inner City Blues (Make Me Wanna Holler) (with David Ryan Harris) - Marvin Gaye
7) Love and Happiness - Al Green
8) I've Been Loving You Too Long - Otis Redding
9) Respect Yourself (with Nickie Conley) - The Staple Singers
10) Yes We Can, Can - Allan Toussaint
11) Come In From The Cold - Marc Broussard/Justin Tocket/Radney Foster)

The CD was produced by Justin Tocket and Calvin Turner and is a must-have for fans of Marc, as well as anyone who loves old-school soul. We hope you enjoy the album as much as Marc and his band enjoyed making it!

Bon Jovi who will perform tonight (9/19/05) at the grand opening of The Nokia Theatre Times Square on the eve of the band's US album release, have invited Marc to open the show for them. Awesome news from the main site:

In an effort for Marc, his band and his fan community to help make a difference in the local Hurricane Katrina relief effort, Marc has started a charitable trust with monies flowing into local and regional Louisiana charities. The national outpouring of resources to The Red Cross, Salvation Army and Second Harvest are wonderful and heartwarming. However, there a plethora of local organizations helping with relief and rebuilding who, in addition to not receiving those funds and media attention, have had their local donor bases, and infrastructure decimated. This bracelet will be one of many efforts that we'll embark on to help raise funds and we hope you will purchase many of these and share them with friends and family as both a fund raising mechanism and as a show of support. Please make sure to share the link for this page with your community.

My name is Heidi Jochum, I am a New Orleans native that currently lives in Lafayette. All of my family is safe but they will be relying on the RED CROSS for a lot over the next few months so I am doing what I can to get something started.

I am putting together a clothing, toy, supply and food drive through the University of Louisiana Lafayette and the UL Student Nurses Association. If you have an outfit in the closet that you can spare, old toys from your children that they don't play with, baby and infant supplies, anything you can spare to send, anything to help, you can mail it to:

PO Box 40437
Lafayette, LA 70504-4037

I will be in contact with the RED CROSS here in town. If you have any question feel free to e-mail me azrared@yahoo.com just please put "Re: Katrina Relief" in the subject line. Please do not send us monetary donations but use this link instead. www.redcross.org/donate/donate.html

Feel free to forward this message to as many people as you can. Thank you for everything.

Who wants to go on The Rock Boat? [24 Aug 2005|11:37am]

Hey everyone - a friend I met on the boat last year has to sell her spot - she's not a computer person and so I said I'd post here for her. Here are the details...

I'm Elizabeth and I have to sell my spot on The Rock Boat. :( I am selling it for $570 (what I paid). It will be a 4-person room with 3 other kick ass people. I went last year and had the most AMAZING time, but I am a full-time college student and I just was recently involved in a car wreck and so now I am not able to afford the trip anymore. I would love to hear from someone ASAP if they are interested - I'm not message board savvy, so I'm having my friend post this for me and anyone interested can e-mail me at Ebowman7@hotmail.com.

Cross posted to Marc Broussard, David Ryan Harris and Ari Hest message boards and LJ communities.

ISO: Florida DMB Tickets [06 Apr 2005|09:18am]

If anyone has any connections for tickets to the FLORIDA Dave Matthews Band shows where Marc is opening for them, I'm desperately looking for good tickets. I have great DMB Gorge tickets to trade probably or would be willing to buy the Florida ones - July 14th in Tampa, July 16th & 17th in West Palm Beach - help!!!

I absolutely have to go to these shows to see Marc open for DMB - had I known before the Warehouse ticket request period was over I wouldn't have a problem, but now I'm scrambling! Any info you might be able to provide would be helpful, thanks.

Rock on,

Don't forget, Marc will be performing on Conan O'Brian's show tonight. The show airs around 12:30 Eastern on NBC affiliates. I think this is Marc's 3rd 4th national TV performance (following Breakfast with the Arts and Jimmy Kimmel and Leno!), correct me if I'm wrong!
